A manifesto about being happy.

To feel happiness you need dopamine, the “happy hormone”. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that transports signals between neurons. It controls the mental and emotional responses.

Every day, every hour or maybe even every minute stress is something we experience. It is a major jammer in the production of our dopamine. How can we make sure we experience less stress to produce enough dopamine to be happy? It is actually not that hard: stick to fixed routines. With fixed routines there is no energy lost in making choices. A routine makes sure you can rule out certain surprises which would’ve caused stress. Routine provides more skills in actions: less focus on the choice of the action and more focus on the development of the action.
